About Us

Positioned in the quiet and leafy Central Park, next to The Diddy, you will find this boutique Pilates, Gyrotonic and Yoga studio. Ingrid Shaw Pilates is a fully equipped Pilates and Gyrotonic studio where you will receive individualised tailored sessions to meet your needs. We cater for all ages and abilities and assist in rehabilitation post injury or surgery. Also on offer are various forms of Yoga in very small groups with experienced, compassionate teachers.

You'll find Ingrid Shaw Pilates upstairs in the Lane Cove Tennis Club-house. North end of Kenneth Street, (in Central Park, opposite the REAR entrance to BP Service station), Longueville.

Opening Hours

Monday to Friday 7:30am - 5pm
Saturday 7:30am - 2pm

Parking

Street parking is available on Kenneth Street, or if you loop around behind Central Park, there is also   parking available on William Edward Street, right near the rear entrance to Central Park. It's a lovely short walk through the park to the tennis club.

I have been with Ingrid for approx 30 years.I was taken by my physio for my first visit - a chronic lower back and a neck given a whiplash injury by a junior physio.  I was constantly constrained by my inability to sustain any constant level of fitness.  I am now 78 and have been physically active ever since I started Pilates - Ingrid Shaw and Pilates changed my life - I am strong, active and fit!  One of the best decisions I have ever made.Thank you so much Ingrid.

I am sixty something male who because of 24 years in the Australian Regular Army have several legacy injuries that used to require a visit to the physiotherapist every 6-8 weeks. In 2019 my partner suggested I should try Pilates. Initially sceptical, largely through ignorance, I am now an absolute convert. My balance, core strength, flexibility and posture are back to where I was 30 years ago. The added benefit of having to focus, particularly on your breathing ensures a refreshing physical and mental challenge. GYROTONIC® is a movement modality that uses specialized equipment to support circular motions, promoting joint articulation without jarring or compression. Emphasizing breath and flow, it provides a full-body workout that enhances stamina, flexibility, and strength while supporting the joints.

GYROTONIC®

Yoga

 

Yoga brings the body and mind together and is built on three main elements – movement, breathing and meditation. Yoga has many physical and mental health benefits including improved posture, flexibility, strength, balance and body awareness. Our yoga classes are held in small groups of up to 11 people.
